FFL and FFL Transfers

What is an FFL?

An FFL is a Federal Firearms License typically held by gun stores, sporting goods stores, and pawnshops. They are licensed to arrange your firearm transfer for you. A Federal Firearms License Transfer (Also called an FFL Transfer) is necessary when a person wishes to purchase a firearm outside of the state they reside in or from a geographically inconvenient FFL holder. Buckstone Arms LLC is a class 01 Dealer in Firearms other than destructive devices.

HOW DO FFL TRANSFERS WORK?

  1. 1. Fill out the Contact Form below (Please include the shipping FFL store's contact information and the firearm being shipped).
  2. 2. We will exchange FFL information with the original firearm dealer and the dealer will ship to our location.
  3. 3. We will contact you after the firearm has been checked in so we can schedule a time for local pickup.
  4. 4. You will need to complete an ATF Form 4473 for the necessary background check. You must be the original purchaser.
  5. 5. You will be charged $30.00 for the gun transfer fee ($15 additional per firearm during the same FFL transaction if more than one).
  6. 6. No NFA items (No Short-Barreled Rifles or Suppressors).
  7. 7. Class 01 transfers only.
  8. 8. Transferee/Buyer must either have a "proceed" on the background check or have a valid Ohio Concealed Carry Permit (CCW) before the firearms can be released.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

We will require a valid form of government issued I.D. upon pick up of all firearm transfers. A valid Ohio CCW is helpful.

Only the person whose name is on the transferred item’s paperwork can legally pick up the firearm.

We do not accept non-serialized firearms.

We do not transfer firearms to non-U.S. citizens.
